For individuals, groups or families designed to help assist in decreasing personal issues many people face due to stress, conflicts or life changes.

Home Based Counseling:
Sessions are held within the client's home to provide the structure to help the family function at their highest level of ability. The goal is to provide intensive counseling to improve the family's functioning.

Case Management:
Includes linking, referring and supporting families to receive appropriate services in the community. Some of the services provided are resource assistance, crisis support and coordination of services. Our Case Managers work in the community to link and support families. We educate parents and others in effective parenting techniques. We pride ourselves on our small caseloads and hands-on approach with each family.

Outreach Prevention Programs

F.A.S.T.:
FAST (Families and Schools Together) is an innovative and collaborative prevention and parent involvement program in which whole families gather and participate in specific, fun, research-based activities aimed at strengthening families and empowering parents.  FAST combines and applies several concepts that have been evaluated, statistically tested, and found to be effective in promoting child resilience and preventing school failure, delinquency, and substance abuse.  Psychiatric research on play therapy, empirically tested family therapy techniques, stress reduction through group support, and a strategy of parent empowerment provide the program's foundation.  FAST focuses on elementary age children and their families.  More..

It Takes Two:
It Takes Two is an intensive outreach program that focuses on non-custodial parents.  The overall goal of the program is to assist the parent to play a positive role in the life of their child.  Often this means working on issues with the custodial parent of the family, learning how to spend quality time with the child, or addressing personal issues such as anger management, unemployment, or self esteem.

Family Matters:
Family Matters is a program of intensive support and intervention specifically designed for families that have a juvenile loved one involved in the legal system, or in some other way at risk of being placed out of the home.  Family Matters is based on the philosophy that by providing an intensive therapeutic structure to all family members in their nature environment, families can stabilize and become empowered to set and follow healthy boundaries and limits, thus lessening the need for more intensive out of home placements.

Incredible Years:
The Incredible Years is an evidence based prevention program for young children.  The program is designed to promote emotional and social competence and to prevent, reduce, and treat behavioral and emotional problems in young children.  Ultimately, the aim of the teacher, parent, and child training programs is to prevent and reduce the occurrence of aggressive behavior, thus reducing the chance of developing later delinquent behaviors.  Incredible Years addresses multiple risk factors known to be related to the development of conduct disorders in children in both school and home.

Signs of Suicide:
SOS is a nationally recognized suicide prevention and depression-screening program for secondary schools.  It is evidence based and a SAMSA recognized prevention program.  It is the only school based suicide prevention program to show a reduction in suicide attempts in a randomized-controlled study.

It combines a curriculum that aims to raise awareness of suicide and its related issues with a brief screening for depression and other risk factors.  The educational component is expected to reduce suicide by increasing students' understanding of and promoting more adaptive attitudes toward depression and suicidal behavior.  The self-screening component enables students to recognize depression and suicide thoughts and behaviors in themselves and promotes them to seek assistance.  A crucial part of SOS is promoting the understanding that suicide is a feature of mental illness and is, in fact, a part of the diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder.
