Families seeking assistance may contact Family Service of Lucas County directly.  Referrals from schools, courts and other community agencies are also welcome.  We provide counseling services for Medicaid eligible clients.  Fees for groups and special programming may be obtained by contacting our Intake Department at 419-321-6455.

For individuals, couples, families or groups, our services are designed to assist in decreasing personal issues many people face due to stress, conflicts or phase of life changes.  

                                               Mental Health Counseling Services

Assessment:
In order to identify problem areas and a specific plan to address these areas, an initial interview is conducted by a qualified, caring professional.


Mental Health Counseling:
Designed to help reduce personal distress due to a mental or emotional disease. Services are designed to help the client function at their highest level of ability and achieve more independence.

Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment:
Consists of referring, linking, and supporting the client in receiving appropriate services in the community, such as: financial support, support groups, case coordination with other providers of service and follow-up. This service is provided in the home, school, or community environments and can also help individuals learn new skills to help them function more independently.  

Pharmacological Management Services:
A psychiatric/medical intervention used to reduce, stabilize, and/or eliminate psychiatric symptoms with the goal of improved functioning.

Deaf and Hearing Impaired Services:
Counseling services for the deaf and hearing impaired are available by a licensed clinician.

 Educational Programs

Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP):
BIP is designed to confront the offender and support change by providing information and tools to change behaviors and beliefs; which are the foundation for their use of violence.

Project Genesis:
Family Service of Northwest Ohio provides a continuum of care for victims of Domestic Violence. Project Genesis advocates act as community liaisons and provide a long term support system to survivors of violence. 

Domestic Violence Prevention: 
This program includes a consultation with Lucas County Children Services, to identify risk factors for family violence and referral for services to victims of family violence.  

Police Probation Team (PPT):
PPT is a diversionary program designed to minimize at risk youth's involvement in the criminal justice system.
