Families seeking assistance may contact Family Service of Northwest Ohio - Wood County directly. Referrals from schools, courts and other community agencies are also welcome. For those that qualify, there is a sliding fee scale based on the size of the household and income. As appropriate, we also work with Medicaid, private health insurance and the Wood County ADAMHs Board.
For individuals, couples, families or groups, our services are designed to assist in decreasing personal issues many people face due to stress, conflicts or phase of life changes.
Mental Health Services
In order to identify problem areas and a specific plan to address these areas, an initial interview is conducted by a qualified, caring professional.
Family Service Counseling Center provides therapy for individuals, couples, children, and families designed to assist in decreasing personal distress people face during the course of their lives.
Pharmacological Management Services:
For those people who may benefit from medication to assist with symptom management, we provide adult and child psychiatric services by highly qualified psychiatrists and nurses.
Domestic Violence Offenders Program:
We are committed to helping offenders of domestic violence break the cycle of violence by offering a 24-week group program.
Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment:
Consists of referring, linking, and supporting the client in receiving appropriate services in the community, such as: financial support, support groups, case coordination with other providers of service and follow-up. This service is provided in the home, school, or community environments and can also help individuals learn new skills to help them function more independently.
Family Service of Northwest Ohio - Wood County facilitates a group for children of families experiencing divorce or custody disputes in Wood County. The group lasts three sessions, and focuses on assisting children in dealing with the difficult feelings that accompany life changes. Changing Families takes place at Wood County Hospital.
